Our maiden voyage was to Grace, Idaho, where Tracy will spend the next 2-3 weeks reporting a civil trial in a town where both parties are very prominent members of the town, and the matter has been very polarizing.
The RV park is WAAAAAY out in God's country, surrounded by farms and a golf course, and true to form, we arrived late, and I had to set up after dark. Parked too far from the power connection, and the 50amp cable was 4" too short to connect. Ugh. Water wouldn't form a tight connection to the trailer, and sprayed everywhere, forming a lake of mud... which I prompty tracked into our trailer with freshly cleaned carpets. Double Ugh.
Dogs were truly baffled and thought mom & dad had lost our collective minds... didn't understand anything that was going on, except that their comfy kennels were nowhere to be found.
All of the ills of our arrival night faded away quite quickly when we saw the breathtaking beauty around us. The bathhouse for the park was 20 feet from our trailer, so we showered there in the morning, since I hadn't yet gotten the hot water situation figured out.
Our first meal on the road was crispy bacon and eggs, which was tastier than it probably actually was by virtue of the fact that it was made in our new kitchen.
I made crockpot chicken noodle soup for dinner, which was wonderful.
The kennels were set up the second day, and the dogs have gotten over their bafflement, and are thoroughly enjoying this new adventure... as are we.
Epilogue: Got the hot water situation fixed with a little help from the RV groups on FB. We are using our own shower this morning. :D
