Are we having fun yet?

 OK, OK, OK.

Since several of you now have chided me for not keeping up on our adventures, I'll take a few minutes while some files are loading in Photoshop.

We took some R&R in South Carolina after I shot a couple of properties in Charleston ("Chucktown"), and had a ball.  We stayed at one of the most beautiful campgrounds we've ever seen on one of the islands... James Island.  County park, but hands' down the best we've ever seen.  Their dog park was unbelievable.

We did the tourist thing in Charleston, since neither of us had ever been there before... then drove an hour or so South and stayed at a campground literally on the beach at Hunting Island.  I have to say, it was beautiful... but DAMN hot.  96, with 98% humidity made it miserable... and made us resolved to come back off-season.

The campground was literally on the beach... it was a 3 minute walk from our site.  We took a drive one evening up to Hilton Head Island, and had a wonderful dinner after strolling by the beach.

After South Carolina, we decided to head North to Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan to check out a couple of RV surplus places to get some parts for our trailer... you see, Elkhart, IN is where the vast majority of RVs in this country are made.

One of our biggest issues with the trailer is that the shower pan was cracked... and every time we took a shower, it would flood the "basement," or storage area down below.  So we were looking for a replacement, since the parts in our trailer are no longer made.

We struck out on that front, unfortunately, but managed to pick up
a new awning, which we have yet to install.

We stayed for a couple of nights (since it was Labor Day Weekend) in a ward parking lot in Sturgis, MI, and then moved our sideshow to the Home Depot parking lot in Three Rivers, MI.  I ripped out the entire shower enclosure in Sturgis, and accidentally shattered one of the glass panels, which Tracy and I then had to spent 2-3 hours, on our bellies, picking up broken class nuggets by hand from the church lawn.  :(  Not fun.

When we moved to the Home Depot parking lot, we figured it would make sense to be there simply because I knew that I would be traipsing across the parking lot on average once per 10 minutes.  After 3 days and several severe storms, we finally were ready to leave... but not before building a brand new shower. a

Of course, during the process, I managed to drop a 4x8 sheet of plywood on my big toe and broke it.

The GOOD news is that the new shower, which we bought at Menards as a kit, turned out beautifully.

I'm still in the caulking process, so we haven't even broken it in yet, but soon... :)
